NewPage contract talks begin

Contract talks are expected to begin today for the union representing workers at an idled Nova Scotia paper mill.
Four days have been set aside for negotiations between Local 972 of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union and Stern Partners Inc.
Vancouver-based Pacific West Commercial Corp., an affiliate of Stern Partners, is in negotiations to buy the NewPage Port Hawkesbury mill.
The mill shut down in September, throwing 600 employees out of work.
