A woman stormed out of a Halifax courtroom in disgust Friday after finding out her ex-husband’s sentencing for molesting their two daughters was going to be postponed until June.
A Nova Scotia Supreme Court jury found the 40-year-old Halifax County man guilty in December of two counts each of sexual interference and sexual assault.
The man’s name is banned from publication to protect the identities of the teenage complainants.
He was scheduled to be sentenced Friday, but Justice Glen McDougall granted the defence an adjournment to allow for the completion of a presentence report.
McDougall rescheduled the hearing for June 1.
According to the indictment filed with the court, the man committed the sex offences against his older daughter in 2005 and 2006 and against the younger girl in July 2008.
