Attempted murder charges laid in Saturday shooting

Two men have been charged after a shooting in downtown Halifax early Saturday morning.
One of the men faces charges of attempted murder.
Just before 3 o’clock Saturday morning, police responded to shots fired near Carmichael and Grafton.
An adult man from the Halifax area was seen fleeing the area on foot, he was quickly taken into custody on Upper Water St. but was later determined to be the victim.
Two other people, believed responsible for the shooting, had fled the scene in a car that was subsequently stopped by police on Creighton St where they were arrested and held for questioning.
A 24-year-old man faces attempted murder charges as well as numerous weapons related charges. A second 28-year-old man faces multiple weapons related charges.
