Man charged after serious crash on Hwy 111

A man is in custody after trying to flee the scene of a collision overnight.
At 1am Saturday morning, Halifax police responded to a two car crash on Hwy 111 between exits 6 and 7.
Police report a fast-moving southbound vehicle clipped another car causing both the lose control.
One car spun out of control and travelled across the median into the northbound lanes of Hwy 111.
A man in his 30’s was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle fled on foot, but a K9 unit successfully tracked down and arrested him.
A 33-year-old man from the Cole Harbour area will be facing impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charges.
