A gun call Wednesday at Citadel High in Halifax was based on false information.

Police were called just after noon about teenager who supposedly had a handgun.

Officers took him into custody and scoured the grounds outside the main entrance looking for evidence, but never found any.

Further investigation revealed the information given to police was entirely made up.

The teen arrested at school, where the board says he was not a student, has been released without charges.
