Accused “sleepwatcher” denied bail

A man accused of breaking into homes in south-end Halifax and watching women sleep has been denied bail.

The Chronicle Herald reports that during Monday’s court appearance Barry Edward Sinclair has chosen to be tried by Nova Scotia Supreme Court judge alone and waived his right to a preliminary inquiry.

He’s charged with two counts of break and enter and five of voyeurism involving watching three other women through windows.

Sinclair heads back to Supreme Court May 24 to start setting dates for the trial.
