The city’s new airport bus service started running at 6 a.m. Thursday with one driver saying about 80 passengers boarded the new route in the first three hours.
There were initial concerns about Metro Transit’s baggage policy, however, within hours of launching the new service, the policy had been changed.
Metro Transit Director Eddie Robar tells News 95.7, based on demand, Metro Transit has decided to relax the policy regarding larger luggage.
“The reason for the policy initially was really about maximizing capacity on the vehicle,” says Robar. “Carry on luggage, you’re allowed no matter what.”
Under the relaxed policy, all luggage which can be safely stowed will be allowed on board, unless the bus is full, in which case it’s at the driver’s discretion to refuse service.
