Traffic lane closures and construction around Halifax Regional Municipality

With summer in the swing across Nova Scotia, so are repairs and renovations to highways and roadways.

This week there are lane closures for road maintenance; some areas could be down to a lane and others could be alternating over the next few weeks.

Here is some road work to keep in mind this week:

Halifax Regional Municipality

Highway 103 in Beechville: Work begins Aug. 16 at 7:00 p.m.

Near the CNR overpass, west to exit 3 will have alternating lane closures for maintenance. Bridge work will happen most nights until Aug. 31.

Springreen Drive and Lady Slipper Crescent: Both are down to one lane until Aug. 31 for road work. Traffic control will be in the area, so people can expect delays Monday to Friday, from sunrise to sunset.

Lunenburg County

Highway 103: Near exit 6 to four kilometres west of exit 7 there will be lane closures for blasting. This large project is to upgrade the highway; it’s long-term and in place until May 2027.

Work is taking place for “most weekdays” between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for 10 minutes at a time, forcing both east and westbound lanes to close.

Upper Branch Road: This roadway is closed until mid-September between Levi Hebb and Auburndale roads for bridge repairs.

Detour signs are in place.

Hants County

Highway 102: In Enfield, a major highway will be reduced to one lane both ways for median construction. Between exits 7 and 8, work will continue all day until Oct. 31.

Robinson Road: There is one less lane until late October between Meadow Drive and Mill Village Road. Work to repair the road is taking place during the week from sunrise to sunset.

Trunk 14: Alternating lane closures will take place until Aug. 31 near Smeltzer Road to Windsor.
