Elderly man robbed at gunpoint during home invasion

Police are looking for a pair of suspects today after an elderly man had his car stolen at gunpoint in Dartmouth.
The two knocked on the man’s door at his home on Princeton Lane around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and launched the attack when he opened the door.
“One male remained at the door while the other forced him to the basement, pushing him down to the ground and going through his pockets and removing his car keys.” said Halifax Regional Police Sgt. Greg Robertson.
The suspects then took the victim’s car and sped off down Eisner Street towards Portland.
The man suffered minor injuries during the attack.
Robertson says police received a tip from a resident who spotted the vehicle near Simmonds Road and North Preston Road around 11:30 p.m.
“A member of the public called in, advising he was behind that car,” he said. “The area was patrolled by officers, but we were unable to locate it.”
The stolen car is a black 2010 Buick Lacrosse with a small crack in the driver’s taillight and a scuff below. The vehicle has a veteran’s license plate ADG84.
The first suspect is described as being in his late teens, five-feet-eight-inches tall, and clean cut. He was wearing white sneakers, a red and white shirt with red and white shorts, and white shoes.
The second suspect, also in his late teens is around five-foot-eleven with an athletic build. He was wearing dark clothing, white shoes, and was carrying a small silver handgun.
