Man suffers serious head injuries from assault

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after he was assaulted in downtown Halifax early Saturday morning.

Staff Sgt. Bill Morris says the victim was assaulted by three or four men around Queen and Morris Streets at 4:30 a.m. The suspects are in their early twenties and were arrested within minutes. The victim, who is believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties, remains in hospital.

Police are still investigating.
