Pump prices expected to remain stable this week

Not much change is expected at the gas pump this week.

Our newsroom is predicting that when regulated prices are adjusted at midnight, they will fall – but only by about half a cent.

George Murphy of Consumers For Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7, the shutdown of government operations in the u-s will likely continue to drive prices down if it continues for an extended period of time.

“The real news happening this week is the shutdown of the U.S. government and of course, with $300 million a day less floating around in the economy, people are going to end up conserving and that’s going to end up driving the price down,” said Murphy.

Across the border in New Brunswick, the price for regular self-serve fell by just two-10ths of a cent to a new maximum price of $1.26.3.
