215 tickets issued during Operation Fall-Back

The results of Operation Fall-Back are in.

This year, police issued 215 summary offence tickets during the month of September which ranged from noise complaints to alcohol-related infractions. Constable Pierre Bourdages says the numbers are on par with previous years.

“It goes up and down but stays about steady,” explained Bourdages. “As far as infractions, it’s also unfortunately steady. Its gone down over the years, but has remained prevalent.”

Officers also responded to 250 noise complaints and arrested 21 individuals for public intoxication.

“What we’ve been noting is before Operation Fall-Back was established in 2004, there was a big number of noise complaints and rampant alcohol infractions.”

Operation Fall-Back is an annual campaign in September which aims to reduce noise, property damage and public intoxication during the first month of school.
