Latest polling shows HRM could be anybody’s race

As we get down to the last few hours of the campaign, new polling numbers are not showing much change in popular opinion.

The latest Abacus Data numbers show the Liberals maintaining a 19-point lead.

Chief Executive Officer David Coletto says all of the campaign events, rallies and door knocking, don’t seem to be having much of an impact on the numbers.

“Since we started polling at the beginning of last week, it hasn’t changed all that much. The lead has sort of shifted anywhere between 19, 20, 18 points,” Coletto told Maritime Morning.

Coletto said what has changed is the number of people that have made up their minds.

“They’ve distributed their preferences in the same way, so no one’s really gained and no one has really lost over the course of the week.”

He says what is interesting is how tight the race is in voter-rich Halifax Regional Municipality where the Liberal lead is only about six per cent, which falls into the margin of error, meaning it could be anybody’s race.

The only poll that matters is tomorrow, when Nova Scotians head to the ballot box.
