42 drunk drivers charged in September

Halifax Regional Police continue to take drunk drivers off the streets.

Last month, 42 drivers were charged with impaired driving and another 23 saw their licenses suspended.

Of the drivers charged, eight were found to have two times the legal limit of alcohol in their system, two more had three times the legal limit and in one case, a driver was found to have a blood alcohol content four times the legal limit.

Police also report that 15 of the drunk drivers were caught as a result of a tip from a concerned motorist on the road.
