Gas prices up by less than a cent

Gas prices are up across the province this morning.

Instead of the small drop that our newsroom was predicting, prices went up – albeit slightly – by seven-10ths of a cent to a new price of $1.27.

There was a small increase in the price of diesel overnight as well. It went up by four-10ths of a cent to a new minimum price of $134.3.

Last year at this time, drivers were paying $1.25 for gas, $1.34 for diesel. Oil was selling at $87.09 U.S. a barrel, just over nine dollars less than yesterday’s closing price of $96.53.
