Halifax tops the Google eTown awards

Halifax businesses are doing a great job of promoting themselves online, and Google says it has the research to prove it.
Google’s Sophie Chesters said the awards looked at how many local businesses have a web site, what kind of site, how they use it and whether it’s optimized for mobile phone users.
“We ranked towns and cities using this criteria and you guys were the winning town,” explained Chesters.
Saint-Saveur, Quebec, Newmarket, Ontario, Canmore, Alberta and Whistler, B.C. were also recognized this year. Halifax will be eligible to win the award again next year.
