Environment Canada issues weather warnings

It’s time to batten down the hatches once again in Nova Scotia.
Environment Canada has place much of mainland Nova Scotia under a Rainfall Warning as a deepening low pressure system moves into the area.
“We are looking at 30 to 40, possibly 50 millimetres of rain,” said News 95.7 meteorologist Richard Zurawski. “Winds will pick up to 50 to 60 kilometres an hour.”
“What is really unusual about this one is that it’s tracking so far north and as it does so it picks up all of that warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and we get into the warm sector between the cold front and the warm front,” he added.
Zurawski predicts that because of all of the warm air being drawn up from the south, our temperatures could reach 10 degrees Celsius by Friday.
