Strike over at Mount Allison University

SACKVILLE, NB – Students at Mount Allison University will be back in class tomorrow.

Negotiating teams from the university and the faculty association met with a provincial mediator yesterday to work out the details of the transition back to class.

The parties have been attempting to reach new collective agreements for full-time and part-time faculty since July.

The two sides have now agreed to resolve outstanding issues through binding arbitration, ending a strike that began January 27.

Mount Allison officials say a revised academic schedule will be formulated and presented to the university senate for approval by the end of the week.
