Kids in Nova Scotia are getting a break from the classrooms this week, and experts say parents should encourage kids to keep an active schedule.
Murika Oliver from Creative Kids Education Centre warned parents March Break shouldn’t just be a chance for kids to hang out in front of the TV. She told News 95.7 maintaining an active and engaged schedule is important.
“Children need to stay active in order to feel good, and also for their minds to work well,” explained Oliver.
Sarah Williams from Urban Parent told News 95.7 there are plenty of active March Break solutions in HRM, from new movies to museums and free skates at the oval.
“The most important thing is just to have fun and for parents to use it as a bit of a break too,” said Williams. “Even if you are still working, to make sure that in the evenings you can still do fun stuff with the kids.”
