Mooseheads playoffs start tonight

We’re gearing up for the playoffs in Halifax, the Mooseheads kick-off post-season play tonight on home ice against the Charlottetown Islanders.

John Moore, play-by-play voice of the Mooseheads, told News 95.7 he expects the Islanders will bring a physical brand of hockey to the Metro Centre tonight.

“I suspect that Coach Ducharme will address that with the players and make sure they stay composed, don’t retaliate,” said Moore. “I think they’ll be successful.”

Moore pointed out the team ended their regular season on a 13-game winning streak and feels the Moose could be in for a long playoff run.

Mooseheads general manager Cam Russell told News 95.7 fans are in for some excitement in the Q-league playoffs.

“You’ve got a lot of teams that are very close in talent, ability and depth,” said Russell. “It will be one of the tightest, one of the most enjoyable playoff seasons to watch in a long time.”
