Halifax software company lays off 30 workers

This afternoon, Bluedrop Performance Learning software company (located near the Bayer’s Lake Industrial Park) laid off 30 employees.

The jobs cuts included 19 here in Halifax, seven in Fredericton and four in Newfoundland.

The company creates virtual reality software used to train soldiers and defence contractors.

The military simulation company received a $500,000 grant from the Nova Scotia government just two years ago to help it develop simulation software to be used by the military.

At the time, the company said it will create 33 jobs in Halifax to support its venture into the military simulations.
