The province’s Serious Incident Response Team has cleared RCMP of any wrongdoing in an arrest that resulted in a broken arm.
In May, two Mounties responded to a complaint at an Enfield home, where they encounter three men who had been drinking. One man was highly intoxicated and allegedly uttering threats to the others.
He was placed under arrest after he threatening the officers. The 52-year-old resisted arrest and his arm was broken when police tried to handcuff him.
The two other men told SiRT investigators the force used by police was not excessive, and the man with the broken arm referred to his own actions that day as “stupidness”.
