Two teens have been charged after allegedly robbing a 37-year-old man walking with a special needs child.
According to police, the man and child were walking in the Purcell’s Cove and Williams Lake Road area when they were confronted by the teenagers.
Police say the teens allegedly demanded the victim’s cell phone and keys, the man didn’t want a confrontation so he handed the items over and walked away to call police.
A short time later, police took a 13-year-old and 15-year-old into custody and recovered the victim’s property. The pair will appear in youth court Monday to face robbery charges.
