Prices jump at the pump

A bigger than expected jump in gasoline prices in Nova Scotia overnight.

The UARB used its weekly adjustment to move the price up by 3.7 cents to a new minimum price of $134.3.

The increase means that a 50-litre fill-up is $1.85 more expensive today that it was yesterday.

There was a small drop in the price of diesel overnight, the minimum price for a litre fell by 1.2 cents to $126.3.

One year ago, drivers were paying $1.25 for gasoline and $1.28 for diesel.  Oil was trading at $103.03 U.S. per barrel, over $10 more than yesterday’s closing price of $92.55.
