Mistakenly released inmate back in custody

HALIFAX – A 22-year-old man facing charges including attempted murder is back in custody after being mistakenly released from jail.

Police say Eliahs Knudsen Kent was taken back into custody at about 2 p.m. Saturday.

He was arrested following a short foot chase after being found at an address in the Spryfield area.

Kent was wrongly released from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility yesterday while awaiting trial for charges including home invasion and robbery.

Correctional services say an internal investigation is underway to find out what happened.
