Quinpool convenience store robbed, employee assaulted

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a violent robbery at a Quinpool Rd. convenience store
At 5:40 Sunday evening, a man went into Robyn’s Dairy Bar, and demanded money from the person behind the counter.
Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders said the 26-year-old employee was assaulted.
“During the robbery, the employee was punched in the face and the cash register was broken,” she said. “The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.”
A couple hours later, Saunders said a 34-year-old man was arrested as the lone suspect in connection with the robbery.
He will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court later today to face robbery charges.
Saunders said the assaulted employee was treated at the scene for his injuries.
