Missing hiker found dead was MLA’s son

CAPE SPLIT, N.S. – Searchers have found the body of a 21-year-old man who went missing while hiking in Nova Scotia.

The RCMP in central Nova Scotia received a call Tuesday at around 11:15 p.m. that a man who went hiking in the afternoon had not returned.

The Progressive Conservative party says the man who died is Caleb Lohr, the son of John Lohr, a Tory member of the legislature for Kings North.

A ground search and rescue team and a military Cormorant helicopter from Canadian Forces Base Greenwood searched the area throughout the night but couldn’t find the missing man.

At around 9:15 a.m. Monday, searchers found his body.

The Mounties don’t suspect foul play.
