Diesel drops as UARB invokes interrupter clause

The provincial regulator has once again used the interrupter clause, this time to lower the price of diesel fuel.

The price for fuel dropped at midnight by 6.5 cents a litre to a new minimum price of 117.5.

The interrupter clause is used when significant shifts in wholesale prices are discovered.

This is the second time this year that the interrupter clause has been used on diesel.

On February 24th, the clause was used to increase the price by 7.1 cents.

There was no change in the price of gasoline overnight, that could happen early Friday morning as part of the regular weekly adjustment.
