Halifax Transit put some buses back on the road Thursday, and it doesn’t cost a dime.
Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., some popular routes in Halifax will be up and running.
Those routes and the amount of buses running on them are as follows:

- 7 Robie – 2 buses
- 9 Barrington – 1 bus

Those buses will not be running on regular schedules, so GoTime will not be working.
Halifax Transit has continued the suspension of Access-A-Bus services.
Along with the challenges of navigating narrow city streets, Halifax Transit has had to close the Burnside Transit Centre until they have a chance to remove a heavy load of snow on the building’s roof.
Until that happens, they don’t believe it is a safe environment for employees.
Around 60 per cent of the Halifax Transit bus fleet is located at the Burnside Transit Centre, with 60-70 vehicles stored in the building.
It is also the Access-A-Bus dispatch and scheduling office, meaning the transit service is unable to deliver a scheduled, fixed route bus service until access to the Burnside dispatch centre and the buses held there is re-established.
Both the Alderney and Woodside ferries will be running at their regular times today.
Both bus and ferry services will be free through Sunday.
