As the dig out in Halifax continues, police are working with crews to stop traffic in areas to allow for street widening.
“You will see some streets in Halifax and in Dartmouth being blocked periodically to allow snow removal crews to be able to do their job fully,” said Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Pierre Bourdages.
He added officers are also on the lookout for people defying the parking ban.
“If you still decided to park on the street, you will be towed and ticketed if you obstruct snow removal,” he said.
Bourdages said HRP had to bring in extra officers last night to handle the extra work load, but today their regular patrol officers are being diverted to help out with the effort.
