Another blast of winter affects morning commute

More snow coming down is creating reduced visibility and slippery roads this morning.

There have been reports of multiple vehicles off the roads and several traffic snarls.

Up to 10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall before it tapers off.

News 95.7. meteorologist Richard Zurawski said cooler than normal conditions are to blame.

“It’s not typical spring weather we’re experiencing, especially the first week of April when we should be seeing temperatures going up to near 10 degrees,” said Zurawski.

Unseasonably cooler weather is expected to stay in the region until the end of the week.

Zurawski said it should warm up by Friday when we can expect rain in the forecast.

He added, this will likely be the last storm with significant accumulated snow of the season.
