Two separate motorcycle crashes claim two lives

A Cape Breton man is dead after his motorcycle crashed in to the back of an SUV near Waycobah Saturday afternoon, the first of two deaths on bikes in the province over the weekend.
Inverness RCMP were called to the scene on Highway 105 near Waycobah around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, after a motorcycle slammed in to the back of an SUV that had stopped to make a left turn.
Police said the two people on the motorcycle were taken to hospital, but the 65-year-old Margaree Valley man operating the motorcycle later died of his injuries.
RCMP said their investigation is continuing.
Meantime, a second man from New Brunswick also died after crashing his motorcycle in the Wallace Bay area Saturday afternoon.
Cumberland County RCMP said the 56-year-old man died of his injuries after his motorcycle left Highway 6 and crashed in to the lawn of a home around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
He died in hospital a short time later.
Police said they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
