Mom concerned about missing son with mental disability

HALIFAX – A mentally disabled Nova Scotia man who was set to be discharged from the Kings Regional Rehab Centre in Waterville, N.S. remains missing on Thursday.

Landon Webb functions at the level of between a 10 and 12-year-old, requiring medication and round-the-clock specialized care.

Landon’s mother, Brenda Webb, is becoming more and more concerned about her son being out in the community on his own. Webb said Landon’s been gone for as long as nine days in the past, but she’s still beside herself.

“He needs medication and without that as well, there’s just a lack of support of him being out in the community,” Webb said.

“He also lacks proper judgement and can become under the influence of unsavoury characters and those who want to take advantage of him.”

She said after those nine days, he was not found in great condition.

Landon Webb is white, five feet five inches tall, and weighs roughly 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kings District RCMP or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.

Webb said she’s continuing to work with the province to find a new home for Landon after Kings Regional Rehab Centre said a few weeks ago they could no longer support his needs.
