Police investigate hit and run

HALIFAX – Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a collision with a cyclist Tuesday evening in Halifax.

Police arrived at the intersection of Herring Cove Road and St. Michaels Avenue just after 7:30 pm Tuesday, where investigators say a car turning right from St. Michaels onto Herring Cove Road hit the back tire of a bike, causing the 15-year-old male cyclist to fall to the ground.

The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop and continued along Herring Cove Road. The teen was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers are looking to speak with the driver of the vehicle which is described as a beige Toyota Corolla. The only description of the driver is a white man, 40-to-60 years old with short hair.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
