Budget consultations begin with online Q & A’s

HALIFAX – Starting Monday, Nova Scotians can share their thoughts and help shape the 2016-17 budget and future budgets.
Nova Scotia’s Minister of Finance Randy Delorey will be holding two live video interactive question-and-answer sessions as a way of getting the public involved in budget talks.
Delorey says he hopes people understand what the province’s financial goals are, adding Nova Scotians must take into consideration the cost of implementing their ideas.
“I hope Nova Scotians take the time to recognize where we’re at, and where we’re trying to go financially. We’re really trying to move toward sustainable financing. We have to make sure we can afford those suggestions that come forward and as long as people are recognizing that, it’s a really great opportunity to offer ideas,” said Delorey.
Minister Delorey will host two live video sessions February 1. 3:45 p.m. and Feb 10, 7:00 p.m.
