Teacher charged with sexual assault, interference

STILLWATER LAKE, N.S. – Investigators with the RCMP’s Sexual Assault Investigation Team have charged a teacher from Five Bridges Junior High School in Hubley following a six week investigation.
Police were notified in early February of what they describe was an incident where a teacher had inappropriate contact with a student.
Officers began an investigation which resulted in the arrest Friday of 36-year-old Sarah Allt Harnish of Stillwater Lake.
Harnish was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference and released on conditions which include no contact with the victim, no contact with persons under 16 years of age, and to remain away from any place known to be frequented by children.
She’s scheduled to appear at Halifax Provincial Court on May 3.
