STELLARTON, N.S. – The province’s independent Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) has ruled a November arrest where a man suffered a fractured wrist was lawful and appropriate.
On November 10, 2015, a 22-year old man was arrested after a fight broke out outside a Westville pub.
Police say during the arrest, the man was aggressive and had resisted officers, sustaining a wrist fracture as a result.
After reviewing a surveillance video outside the pub, SiRT investigators determined the actions of all officers involved with the arrest were justified, adding that had the man complied with officers, he wouldn’t have suffered the injury.
