Soldier dies while training outside Gagetown

A Canadian soldier collapsed while doing physical training outside 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown.

According to the Department of National Defence, the soldier from 5th Canadian Division Support Group Signal Squadron was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The Canadian Armed Forces offers sincere condolences to the family and is providing them assistance during this difficult time,” DND said in a news release.

His identity has not been release and the incident didn’t happen on DND property.

RCMP are investigating.
