NEWS 95.7 wins RTDNA regional broadcast award

NEWS 95.7 went home with an Radio Television Digital News Association award at the Atlantic Region’s annual ceremony in Dartmouth Saturday night.

The Gord Sinclair Award was given to NEWS 95.7 for the best Live Special Event coverage for the Rogers Hometown Hockey broadcast at Alderney Landing on November 5th, 2017.

The Rick Howe Show broadcast live from the event to highlight several aspects of Nova Scotia’s connection to the Canada’s favourite game, including former NHLer and current Halifax Mooseheads general manager Cam Russell, Rogers Hometown Hockey co-host and Halifax-native Tara Slone, Montreal Canadiens play-by-play announcer and Nova Scotian Dan Robertson, and Sidney Crosby’s minor hockey coach Paul Mason.

RTDNA Awards recognize the best in journalism, the regional award winners will now compete nationally at the annual RTDNA convention in Toronto.
