Want to learn how to backyard compost?

If you've ever wanted to turn your kitchen scraps into fertilizer for your garden, Halifax Regional Municipality has some information for you.
They'll be hosting a series of free backyard composting workshops.
Attendees will learn how to build and maintain a backyard composter, get a booklet with composter building instructions, a troubleshooting guide and more.
The events are as follows:
Wednesday, May 23 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Findlay Community Centre, 26 Elliot St, Dartmouth
Wednesday, May 30 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Captain William Spry Community Centre, 16 Sussex St, Halifax
Saturday, June 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Halifax Garden Festival – Victoria Park, South Park St, Halifax
Wednesday, July 4 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tantallon Public Library, 3646 Hammonds Plains Rd, Upper Tantallon
