Queensland Beach to be closed for storm damage repairs

By CityNews Halifax Staff

Queensland Beach Provincial Park will be closed for over a week while crews repair damage caused by a winter storm.

Storm surge from a powerful system in early January ripped up the section of Conrads Road that runs parallel to the beach near Hubbards.

Starting Thursday, June 21, Conrads Road from Trunk 3 to Queensland Lake Bridge will be shut down for road construction and parking lot improvements.

“Both the roadway and beach will be closed to pedestrians as well,” said a news release from the province.

They hope to be able to reopen on Saturday, June 30.
