Rainfall warning issued for Halifax and area

A rainfall warning is currently in effect for Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Rain, at times heavy, is expected, says Environment Canada.
Periods of rain, heavy at times, will end Saturday evening, with additional amounts of 15 to 40 millimetres expected.
There is also a potential for very strong westerly winds tonight and Sunday. Wind warnings have been issued for regions in the southwest and along the Fundy coast, and additional wind warnings may be required.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
