IKEA Canada is temporarily closing all of its stores.

CEO of IKEA Canada, Michael Ward, says health and safety need to be the top priority.

“Our communities are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to support these efforts, we will temporarily close all stores across the country to support social distancing efforts and based on recommendations from local health authorities,” he says in a news release.

IKEA.ca will still offer home delivery services as well as store Click & Collect pick-up between 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The company says it will support its 7,300 co-workers during this time through a comprehensive benefits package and paid leave policy.
