Trio charged, search on for two others after Eastern Shore break-in

The RCMP says three people have been charged and work is underway to identify two others after a break-and-enter on the Eastern Shore.

The investigation started on Saturday afternoon when officers were called to reports of a break-in at a business on Highway 7 in Beaver Harbour.

“Officers learned that four masked men had arrived in a silver sedan, broken the gate, and were walking around the property,” reads a media release from police.

The responding officers laid out a tire deflation device at the exit, and say the Toyota Yaris, with five people inside, drove over the device and continued westbound on Highway 7. The five eventually ran into the woods after the Yaris — later determined to have been stolen from Pictou County — came to a stop.

Two men and a woman were arrested a short time later and have been charged with break and enter with intent, mischief, possession of property obtained by crime and theft under $5,000.

The two other people of interest in the case are both men, one described as 5’10” and 180 pounds, wearing a grey and black baseball cap, a hooded sweater, a greenish face covering and rubber boots at the time of the incident.

The second man is described as 5’10”, wearing a blue baseball cap, a white crewneck long-sleeved shirt, black pants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to police or to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
