Man dies from injuries after falling from Clayton Park balcony

By Meghan Groff

Halifax Regional Police are investigating after a man died of his injuries falling from a balcony in Clayton Park this morning.

Police were called to Carrington Place at around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to respond to a disturbance at a residence.

They say the man fell during an altercation with a woman and the pair were known to each other.

Emergency crews tried to save the man's life, but police say he succumbed to his injuries.

The province's Serious Incident Response Team — which is now investigating the incident — says the man went over the balcony shortly after officers entered the apartment.

SiRT's role is to investigate all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia, whether or not there is an allegation of wrongdoing.
