Man facing several charges after 17 firearms seized

A Hammonds Plains man is facing several charges after a two-month investigation by RCMP.

Mounties say it started in early January after they got a report of someone waving a firearm out a car window while driving erratically.

Since then, police have searched several residences, vehicles and electronics, which led to the seizure of 17 firearms and evidence.

On Thursday, April 9, a man and woman were arrested at a Tantallon business. Another woman was arrested in Halifax.

Charges are pending against the two women.

Travis James Terry Laing, 29, has been charged with 52 counts of firearms-related offences. The 29-year-old is scheduled to appear in court today.

RCMP say their investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can call 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
