Dartmouth-themed colouring sheets included with community meals

When Pierre Tabbiner heard The Canteen Restaurant was serving up meals for the Dartmouth North Community Food Centre and Margaret’s house during COVID-19, he wanted to help.
“Give me something to do. Anything. I’ll drive trucks, I will chop nuts, whatever it is, I will do it,” says Tabbiner, a local artist and creative director.
But he says offering to help doesn’t always work, and decided to approach them with his own idea he calls Dartmouth Colours.
He, and six other local artists, have contributed Dartmouth-themed colouring sheets, which are being sent out with the community meals to families who have kids.
“This is a great big smile right here in the moment while we’re all paying attention to each other, when we can all help,” he says.
The COVID-19 pandemic is also a downtime for artists, so Tabbiner said he wanted to give his fellow artists something to do that they could take pride in.
“I love to give my colleagues, my local artists, my people, basically, purpose again, finding some way to contribute using the superpowers that we have,” he says.
Images range from the infamous Dartmouth geese, to the smokestacks at Tuft’s Cove.
The other artists involved in the project are Lyndsay Belair, Eric Miller, JJ Steeves, Liz Mac, Ben Jeddrie, and Akira Arruda.
Dartmouth Colours is also free for anyone to print and colour on their own.
