Strang wishes students a fun but safe March Break

By Meghan Groff

The province's chief medical officer of health is urging families to continue practicing COVID-19 safety measures during March Break.

“No matter what you're doing next week, remember to do everything you have been doing this past year to keep yourself and others safe,” said Dr. Robert Strang at a Friday briefing.

That means keeping social circles small, and keeping up with protocols such as mask-wearing, physical distancing and hand washing.

Strang encouraged families to explore their communities or other spots in the province, but to do so safely.

“Please only travel outside of Nova Scotia if it is absolutely necessary,” he said. “And if you do travel outside of the province, you will need to complete a full 14 day self-isolation period when you return.”

“Last year we were fully shut down,” Strang added. “This year with good protocols and plans in place, daycares will be running, so for children and youth, I hope you have a fun week off school.”
