Power outage impacts morning commute

Nova Scotia Power reported a large power outage in Dartmouth on Tuesday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., the utility outage map showed that the electricity was out in an area encompassing most of Shannon Park, stretching into Albro Lake, Highfield Park, and the approaches to the Mackay Bridge.

At one point, about 4,000 customers were impacted, and the estimated restoration time was set for between 8:00 and 9:45 a.m.

Damage to overhead equipment and emergency repairs are listed as the cause.
