Power outage in downtown Halifax Wednesday (update: restored)

UPDATE: As of 11:50 a.m., power has largely been restored, with just a handful of customers remaining without electricity.

There's a power outage in downtown Halifax Wednesday morning.

As of 9:50 a.m., it's affecting about 650 customers in the Lower Water Street area.

According to Nova Scotia Power's outage map, the electricity went out at 9:18 a.m. and the cause is still being investigated.

Drivers who encounter traffic lights that aren't working are required to treat those intersections as all-way stops.
